The Idea of Viridate
Viridate emerged from an inter-university student project. We share the common goal solving challenges of data gaps and quality issues of supplier scope 3 data in category 1 (Purchased Goods and Services).
In a nutshell:
- Suppliers' carbon data is fragmented, inconsistent, and costly to process.
- Viridate normalizes, evaluates and structures supplier data to PACT standard.
- We cut costs and enable Sustainability Managers to focus on supplier engagement.
The Problem
Supplier emission data is often inconsistent, incomplete, and resource-intensive to manage.
Under the CSRD, large companies must disclose Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions, specifically Category 1 (Purchased Goods and Services).

Viridate creates an auditable data gate between suppliers and reporting systems.
1. Data Extraction and Ingestion
Reads and extracts relevant information from files, portals, or database exports of suppliers.
2. Normalization and Conversion
Aligns units, boundaries, and methods to recognized PACT standard with transparent audit trails.
3. Evaluation and Data Gaps Check
Detects missing values, inconsistent factors, and evaluations assumption of average and secondary data.
4. PACT / XLSX Output
Produces structured, validated PACT-JSON or XLSX, evaluation reports and drafts for revision cycles.
